Cirque du Soleil: Varekai

Watched Varekai on thursday with ana and her bf,
ana's from brazil who happens to be my MU colleague
getting her to answer the phone was impossible
but atleast it ended well lol



Varekai was amazing!
Everyone should do themselves a favour and go for it
albeit a bit pricy
mine was on discount as im a student
but even so
it was still 45 pounds!
ana and steve had to pay 55 each





It was well worth it unlike lady GAGA
lazy bitch...
lol
It was so cool cuz u get to watch it in a tent
and the fallen angel depiction of Icarus
(the boy who flew too close to the sun
and whose wings were melted by the gods)
in the acrobatic net was fking breathtaking!
it makes u wonder what is the human limit
in terms of contortion





in terms of the choreography and music...
its magical
almost like going on a journey with the characters
and cause our seats were damn close
we got to see their facial expressions
which made it an even more immersive experience
theres just so much going on on stage at times
which i felt was its biggest downfall
as you dont know where to look and who to look at
so i missed out on a few good bits




Overall screw gaga and watch this shit!

although i only had one summer hol so far
i felt like my whole life was a summer hol until i came over
but of course since its so fking cold here

and how much it provided me with comfort,

my aunt kidnapped her from her mum
for 3 months
well actually she came at her own accord
as she loves cny in kch
and wants to see lions

Feels like its taking its toll on me

Went down to london on the 11th till the 17th
to 'celebrate' lol
but cant help the fact that it isnt a proper holiday
and that ppl are still busy




nevertheless had a rather homely and therapeutic time
went for indian in a proper restaurant for the first time for dinner on friday 12th
with the amu, sy and mel
'green chilli'
pretty good stuff if i mite say so myself
plus we had 50% off
damn syiok la




then the rest of my trip was pretty much a blur
cny eve was uneventful
cant rememebr anything cept for the small family dinner i had
slept at 10 pm that nite wtf



cny/val day itself was filled with awesome food
seems like everytime i go down to london its all bout food
u know i always promise myself that ill see the tower bridge/canary wharf
when i go down
but end up eating lol



went for dim sum with my uncle at round 2pm
the deep fried vietnamese spring rolls were superb
kia kia round chinatown
split up
explored leicester square, soho and chinatown more thoroughly
found awesome patisseries & cool shops
there are actually plaques of stars with handprints on the grounds round leicester
where they have all the movie premiers
pretty cool



killed time till i met up with leonard for hot chocolate
at the 'nordic bakery'
famous for its cinnamon buns too
then followed him to church
cuz ive never been to an actual english one
tot itd make for a good experience


then went to 'tomoe' for jap
dont be confused with the super value for money one in kch along jalan mendu
no doubt the ratings for food were good and it really delivered
in those respects
but as u should all know by now...
jap food is always fking overpriced where ever u are
the restaurant required us to spend a minimum of 15 pounds pp
to sit down and eat
wtf rite?
so we ordered tekthang(monkey's dick), black cod, 3 sushis
damage done = 46.50 pounds for 2 persons
and we werent that full
but the food was good la


then on the monday which was the 1st day of cny
me & amy went on a food hunting trip
for the best beef pho in town & and best macaroons in town
both can be found at 'song que' and 'macaron' respectively
both took a while to find lol
then joined up with mel
and went to 'awana' for dinner for malaysian
got 50% off again
awesome stuff
though the laksa was a bit too belachany for my taste
i like nice smelling laksa
eg. swak laksa lol
but their laksa was satisfying for the moment
the kuih bingka dessert was fantastic
with the almond vanilla clotted cream
match made in heaven!


2nd day of cny went to ikea near wembley with my uncle
ate swedish meatballs and tapaoed 2 daim cake
then met with sy for dinner at awesome assa for korean
stayed over at his place cuz it was closer to euston station
and partly also cuz we wanted to play dota
so that would require a whole nite's investment
lol
had daim cake for dessert
mmm ridiculously good




caught the train this morning back to manc.
to begin the final leg of hell
havent started on my fixed thesis
fml x 3
but first things first
lady gaga tomorrow nite!
