Bonfire Night

hrm...very disappointing indeed. its like a fake cny eve nite with a huge bonfire in the middle of the park. Luckily the company was great.

Bonfire...i dont really see whats the big deal with this...ok lar its quite a huge bonfire but ppl are like literally stoning away for hours just staring at that fire..

hrmm does it usually take this long to upload just 2 photos?...if it always takes this long i wont put liaw lo...wasting my time nia..see some furniture burning in the midst

k shiat...that may very well be the last time i upload photos....worse than kura-kura..wads worse
are the lau-hong fireworks

k la at least it was free and 20 minutes long... i can give them that, seeing as they are selling one bomb at tesco for like 20 pounds each

k lar towards the end it got ok...some big flourishes and weird bongo shaped ones

the only ride that looked interesting enuf ....very disappointedddddddd

Neway, what i learned today from the ppl i went to the bonfire with was that even if u tell them u are chinese, but u are a malaysian, u are a 'malay'. lol this misconception is not only thought of by the brits but the turks, taiwanese and chinas. hrm glad i cleared that up.

my turkish fren very cute and funny la. baked two of us a frozen pizza for supper...she said it was the first time she ate pizzas with pineapples and chicken on top...and asked if it was normal? me and a china girl looked at each other in disbelief lol. oo and she eats plain rice mixed with plain yogurt....and her nigerian housemate eats poached shrimps with red sauce for breakfast.

funny world we live in no?

ooo yea. i also forgot to mention that theres 1 girl from china whom i met through the turk....she happens to be a szechuan survivor. She said when it happened her whole ceiling fell and hit her head and bled and like cannot even walk properly so cannot evacuate the apartment. she also tot that that was the end cuz like shes living on the 7th floor. but when it all settled, there was no electricty/food/water/telecommunications for the nxt 10 days and the whole city (which is damn big) turned into a graveyard. Luckily her mum was a doctor and they survived on plain dumplings for those 10 days and slept on the grass in a playground. so like when their phones were back on, she had found out a few of her friends and relatives had perished.

amazing huh? she said the governement fabricates the figures where in actual fact 100s of thousands actually died. and that happened oni 5 months ago..cant belif she got over it that quickly

another interesting person i met was a local who happened to be enlisted in the british army. and when i asked him if hes ever been to asia before, he said hes only been to iraq....to fight for 6 months. he said it gets very exciting when theres action but really scary cuz always got bombs flying here and there. cool huh?

  1. Question : What size are the photos you're uploading?

    Are they web optimised? Perhaps use a simple picture editing program and shrink the size? 1600x1200 is probably too large for web use. Of course make a backup copy if they're important memories.

    In short : Cut down the size that you're uploading.

    The Malaysian = Malay misconception is so common amongst westerners. I just compared told my aussie friends,

    "Three Australians, 1 white, 1 aboroginal, 1 ABC, are they === ?"

    === in maths logic is one of the exact same, so the question "Does 1.0 === 1.00 ?" is false.

    Funny world, I'm laughing :D

  3. 3 megapixel? Or a typo of 3 megabytes? :P

    Whatever, it solely depends on your upload speed & blogspots server. I would even consider trying out the speeds on dedicated free image hosting sites to see how it compares.

    I was "laughing" at the previous post mainly because, if you didn't realize.

    I said AUSSIE friends, and then I divided them into different types.

    Especially in Aus, I guess they haven't got the concept that

    Aussie == Australian? True
    Malay == Malaysian? False

    And yea, I realized my HK & Vietnam friends also had that misconception.

    RA3 dosn't have co-op LAN, bummer.

  5. Yes, I'll be back this year too, and most likely next, at least for mid-year.

    Look forward to it.
