Oooo

Last week was rather disastrous and depressing....

Too bad its over and this week started out much better i guess, except for the part where i walked straight into a bloody pole...frikkin pain man

hmm...one of the worse things that i still remember very vividly about last week was about a nightmare i had...

its like in Lodge on the top floor at block C via the canteen after the stairs on the right theres like an open ended brickwall railing rite? then when u look down its like all the jungle, a stream and fencing rite?

then omg in my nightmare, suddenly a student seemed like he jumped of the ledge then it caused a ruckus and everyone started going to the railing and one by one they all fell over....then me being my curious self went to see what was going on and i was probably the only one that could see like a long-hair pale 'samara' shoving students one by one off the railing in a grotesque way and when she saw me...that was when i woke up and noticed how much i was sweating despite it being cold.

celaka i tell u after that i was so scared cuz like my house is 98 yrs old and my room is like in this dark alley in the most private section of the house. who knows whats happened behind these walls these past few decades.

Its giving me the heebee-jeebees man! especially when i have to go brush my teeth since i always sleep at 3 am. scared later i encounter a momok/ju-on...

Cold

omg...

O M G

It get so cold over here sometimes that even when arberdeen is at 3 degrees, its -2 over here.

It also get so cold sometimes that when i want to turn in my sleep, i would have to think twice becuz the rest of the surface of my bed is like an ice block.

It is so cold that i make sure that every single particle of water is wiped of from my body before i even step out of the shower(sometimes eevn before i turn off the shower)

Funny enuf, it is so cold that my french housemates are amazed that i still wear shorts and a T-shirt around the house when they are wearing trekkies with layers and scarfs and beanies indoors(basically cuz thats my attire for cooking. those 2 want to get half of their wardrobe stinking with their french camembert cheese & and onions is their problem)

O have i mention before that its so cold that i open my fridge just to feel the warmth inside...

Its so cold that as i m typing this out i wouldnt dare move to prevent my skin form contact with my pyjamas as i move(takes a lot of effort)

Its so cold that i eat every 3 hours

Its so cold that i crave chocolate and butter everyday

Its so cold that i shudder to think how much would my gas expenses be if i were to switch my radiator on(central heating ma)

Its so cold that even at -, the snow is also scared to come out

Its so cold that i once slept for 14 hours

Its so cold that my french housemates decided we should start using the radiator edi even though theyre broke

OMG....i don even wanna think how im gonna get through january and it makes it worse to think that all of u in msia are having round 1 and round 2 w/o me! nooo i so need laksa to warm me up right now...

Bridge to Terabithia

wow.

its been so long since a movie touched me this deeply...

wonder y i didnt pay too much attention to it in Form 1.

the way its been directed is so human and mature and the story so profound at times with all its indirect symbolism and link to each idea the story dishes out till 1 may think hmm this is definitely not targeting just a family audience. and the two mains' acting is so totally spot on and believable. wow man. the only qualm i had was that the ending could have been a lot stronger. doesnt hurt to say that annasophia looks really pretty too lol

Do yourself a favour and watch this.

Theres also 2 more id recommend if ud like movies(like these) that strike u as generic but has a surprising amount of maturity and profoundness in the msg it delivers .

Trust me..:p

Shucks...

Sometimes life is just so unfair....no not to me, i try to stay as grateful as i can for everything but its tough cuz honestly, i have no idea what a hard life really means and usually take for granted a lot of things in life.

But my heart goes out to 'u' right now n im so very sorry to here whats happening atm. as if life could not get any tougher for u...i dont know what u did to deserve all these things in life but i do hope things start turning around for your sake and i also hope with all sincerity that if anything were to happen, u wont lose your direction in life. i know it may seem like u dont have anyone to turn to anymore in life but know that there will always be ppl ard u who care and that you arent alone. im truly ashamed of myself for whining bout all the little things in life. this song is dedicated to u...

"Lift"

I know you're hurting
Feels like you're learning
'Bout life the hard way
And it ain't working

Seems like forever
That you've been falling
It's time to move on
You're life is calling, yeah

This was never meant to be the end
Close the book and start again

[CHORUS]
Cause I know how hard it can get
But you gotta lift
You gotta lift
And sometimes that's how it is
But I know you're stronger
Stronger than this
You gotta lift
You gotta lift

When you can feel your
Whole body's aching
What's left of your heart
It won't stop breaking
You gotta let go
You took a hit
Time to pick up now
Move on from this

This was never meant to be the end
Close the book and start again

[CHORUS]
Cause I know how hard it can get
But you gotta lift
You gotta lift
And sometimes that's how it is
But I know you're stronger
Stronger than this
You gotta

Lift yourself up above all the hurt
Don't give it
Wipe your eyes and remember
You're better than this
Let them know
That they took their best shot
And missed
C'mon and lift

This was never meant to be the end
Close the book and start again

[CHORUS]
Cause I know how hard it can get
But you gotta lift
You gotta lift
And sometimes that's how it is
But I know you're stronger
Stronger than this
You gotta lift
You gotta lift

Pick up now...
Pick up now...

hmm..

ive been rather unlucky in finding jobs for this past month la...but i want to fund my own hols in dec...sighs

...also it has been super cold recently but like its only 6 degrees...where as last month it hit -5 and i still walked over to my neighbours house using shorts and a t-shirt...

on the lighter side of things,
i know all of u have heard of wi-fi... but have u heard of wireless electricity? (mebbe im a bit outdated since this article was dated 2007)

"The experiment exploits the phenomenon of resonant coupling. It involves two copper coils of two feet in diameter. One, the transmitter, is connected to a power source and the other is connected to a light bulb. The two coils are set up two metres apart, and when the transmitter is switched on, the light bulb (attached to the receiver) lights up.

MIT explains how resonant coupling can add energy to a system by drawing a parallel with a child on a swing. The child can, by pumping his or her legs at the resonant frequency of the swing, add energy to the system and swing higher. Similarly, an opera singer can, by sustaining a powerful enough note for long enough, cause a wine glass to shatter, so long as the note matches the resonant frequency of the glass.

In the experiment, the transmitter generates a non-radiative magnetic field oscillating at MHz frequencies. This field mediates the power exchange with the other coil, which has been specifically designed to resonate with it."

my lecturer went to a science expo in london and he saw a laptop running on wireless power. thats just absolutely wicked sick man. totally going to be revolutionary. ive tot about the idea a long time b4 but like was wondering wad would happen if someone walked between the power output and the receiver...sot tiok man

but like according to my russian coursemate, the idea has already been ard since the 1930s with Tesla but it didnt catch on. Can u frikkin imagine wad our world would be like if we all stuck with tesla's idea of transferring energy? No wires, cables, and total freedom of moving things ard(within certain ranges of course) but id bet that within 78 yrs of development & innovation electricity would be able to reach kms away...

hmm...so well just have to wait and see how this resonance thing shapes the world then

French

....where do i start?

first things first, for those of u who dont know, i m currently living with a french couple

this is what they look like.

hmm does the arrangement of photos always come out cacat on blogger?
one more shot of them...this was the day they cooked a french meal for me. was pretty darn good.

...and now for the bad.

omggg man sometimes i cannot tahan edi. after living with these ppl for the past 2 months, i realized how shitty the french language is. sounds like crappppp crap crap. i dont understand why ppl think its romantic or y lionel even bothers to learn the language. mebbe cuz 50% of the time all i hear is shouting and fighting. its like ' je beh beh beh beh , Se be je se BEH... BEH BEHB EH JE SE DEH!'
omggg its driving me crazyyy i tell u. they fight like exercise.

within the first week i moved in here, they broke up twice, separated once(stayed in dif rooms), moved out once(guy) and destroyed my stainless pots and wok. oo did i mention the guy has got an aiming problem(if u know what i mean)....its like hes got scattershot upgrade...ewww. oo and the worst thing is that he used to only drink coke so liek u know how fking pekat and yellow the stains get if u dont be neat and wipe the seat. :/

newayyy u may be asking y did i take this long to write about them....well coz theyre fighting got more intense and this time it looked/sounded(cos i stay in a room directly above them) serious.
the past few days i can hear the girl crying at 5 am and fighting away. but 5 minutes ago she was running up and down and slamming doors and throwing around stuff and like ran out of the house(saw her through my window lol). thomas(the guy) gave her 5 minutes and then he too went off, after doing some vacuuming wth....

oo oo theyre back....i hear her banging the door. i think he locked himself inside the room. ok i hear him letting her in and now shes sobbing...looks like theyre making up again....just STFU CAN OR NOT!

talk about a volatile relationship lionel...

thnk goodness they arent the overly passionate loving type otherwise things would go bump at nite..../morning.../evening

phew...

Bonfire Night

hrm...very disappointing indeed. its like a fake cny eve nite with a huge bonfire in the middle of the park. Luckily the company was great.

Bonfire...i dont really see whats the big deal with this...ok lar its quite a huge bonfire but ppl are like literally stoning away for hours just staring at that fire..

hrmm does it usually take this long to upload just 2 photos?...if it always takes this long i wont put liaw lo...wasting my time nia..see some furniture burning in the midst

k shiat...that may very well be the last time i upload photos....worse than kura-kura..wads worse
are the lau-hong fireworks

k la at least it was free and 20 minutes long... i can give them that, seeing as they are selling one bomb at tesco for like 20 pounds each

k lar towards the end it got ok...some big flourishes and weird bongo shaped ones

the only ride that looked interesting enuf ....very disappointedddddddd

Neway, what i learned today from the ppl i went to the bonfire with was that even if u tell them u are chinese, but u are a malaysian, u are a 'malay'. lol this misconception is not only thought of by the brits but the turks, taiwanese and chinas. hrm glad i cleared that up.

my turkish fren very cute and funny la. baked two of us a frozen pizza for supper...she said it was the first time she ate pizzas with pineapples and chicken on top...and asked if it was normal? me and a china girl looked at each other in disbelief lol. oo and she eats plain rice mixed with plain yogurt....and her nigerian housemate eats poached shrimps with red sauce for breakfast.

funny world we live in no?

ooo yea. i also forgot to mention that theres 1 girl from china whom i met through the turk....she happens to be a szechuan survivor. She said when it happened her whole ceiling fell and hit her head and bled and like cannot even walk properly so cannot evacuate the apartment. she also tot that that was the end cuz like shes living on the 7th floor. but when it all settled, there was no electricty/food/water/telecommunications for the nxt 10 days and the whole city (which is damn big) turned into a graveyard. Luckily her mum was a doctor and they survived on plain dumplings for those 10 days and slept on the grass in a playground. so like when their phones were back on, she had found out a few of her friends and relatives had perished.

amazing huh? she said the governement fabricates the figures where in actual fact 100s of thousands actually died. and that happened oni 5 months ago..cant belif she got over it that quickly

another interesting person i met was a local who happened to be enlisted in the british army. and when i asked him if hes ever been to asia before, he said hes only been to iraq....to fight for 6 months. he said it gets very exciting when theres action but really scary cuz always got bombs flying here and there. cool huh?

Remember remember, the 5th of November...

y? wads so auspicious that needs remembering?

well i guess cuz im finally gonna announce to ppl that i actually have a blog after lying to them over these past 2 months haha!

.....n also cuz today is bonfire night

.....n also the day the parliament houses gets blown up in a sci-fi totalitarian future by some masked terrorist.

hmm i think theres some relation to the fireworks of bonfire night with that movie.....oh wait, no duh .. something to do with history...and according to wikipedia, 'Guy Fawkes Night (also known as Bonfire Night, Cracker Night, Fireworks Night) is an annual celebration on the evening of the 5th of November. It celebrates the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot of the 5th of November 1605 in which a number of Catholic conspirators, including Guy Fawkes, attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London, England.'

rite its back to my assignments then
